On May 27th -29th , Bata hosted their second edition of the Bata Fashion Weekend in europe’s fashion capital, Milan. This transformed the prestigious Palazzo Mezzanotte venue into a fashion centre.
True to its global outlook, the fashion weekend was a global experience. Themed as ‘ The Sound of Style’ the event forged a perfect blend of music, design and craftsmanship. Here in Nairobi, Bata Fashion Weekend ran on Friday 27th to Saturday 28th at the Bata Muindi Mbingu store with a series of activations.
Bata released its Ultimate Red collection that featured exemplified styles. Arguably one of their trendiest collections, the line was inspired by styles seen on the streets of London and New York.
Featuring an array of shoes and styles, from boots to sneakers and eye-catching floral patterns(these we think will sell fast) the collection is highly fashionable at affordable prices.
Bata promises a consistent flow of products that will be constantly changing – so don’t wait to long go grab yours at select Bata stores; Hilton, Muindi Mbingu, Sarit, Two Rivers, Galleria, Garden City, Junction, Westgate and Village Market.
Bata hosted various influencers across the two day activation at the Bata Muindi Mbingu store. The Homeboyz Radio crew broadcasted from the store amplifying the store with a live radio feel by Talia Oyando and some good music by DJ Bash.
Teacher Wanjiku hosted the activations and Fena Gitu who is also the Bata Kenya brand ambassador gave a lovely performance at the store front which brought traffic to a stand still.
The event saw a number of influencers pop in. from Khaligraph Jones, Brian Mbunde, Wyre amongst others.
One of the crowd pullers at the activation probably was the live canvas shoe painting; commonly know as NGOMAs, by two young talented artists Rosen Ian and Kakoa which here on sale and even customized on order.
Bata had a live stream feed on their social media platforms, streaming live from Milano. The fashion show aired on the Bata Kenya Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The event lived up to its theme TheSoundOfStyle with a hip take on the streetwear trends with models dancing through the runway and giving life to these trendy designs.
