Honey From The Moon Studios Holds Art Class in Nairobi
Engaging the public’s creativity through art
Nairobi Design Week was invited to join in the last art class, where we encountered Fitsum Berhe Woldelibanos world of simulacra and beyond. The art class required the ability to conjure emotion from an array of sculptures and items around the room and the sensibility of relating colors from your palette to the brilliant canvas.
Observational sketching and this internal conversation was the real challenge given to the participants but it also proved a joy to many. We also had the time to speak to Zeeban, one of the founders of Honey From The Moon, who was pleased to see many new faces, as well as those who had returned for the final class.
Honey From The Moon also spoke to the participants about their experience and fortunately, Kenyans and other participants treasure such opportunities and look forward to having more classes. Art classes are important for everyone irrespective of their individual skill level or knowledge on the subject. Engaging like this through creativity informs the culture, awareness and identity of participants.
