Mau Mau Collective, named after one of the groups that fought for Kenya’s independence, is an independent organization seeking to unite and empower African artists. They seek to create a network of visual artists, filmmakers and performing artists from different regions of the continent. They design projects that will help link creatives with one another, enable them to share resources and their knowledge in the arts. They further aim to source for funding and educational opportunities for artists, all in a bid to make the arts a sustainable career for African artists.
Mau Mau collective is driven by Pan-African values and as a result, they also prioritize projects aimed at developing and empowering our communities. They have worked with artists who are inspired by their art to advocate for social change in their communities.
Mau Mau Collective is a creative product born out of the need to fill gaping holes in the creative arts space in Kenya & Africa.
