GLOBAL DESIGN GRADUATE SHOW

As a response to the recent covid-19 related end of year showcase cancellations i-D and ARTSTHREAD have launched the Global Design Graduate Show for the class of 2020.

The competition is open to all art and design students graduating this year 2019-20 (undergraduate and postgraduate) in any related discipline, located anywhere in the world.

The Global Design Graduate Show 2020 is your chance to share your creative work alongside your peers from around the world and get it judged by industry leaders.

“We’re truly honoured to partner with ARTSTHREAD on this initiative,”

says i-D’s Editor in Chief Alastair McKimm

“Each year, the talent emerging from art schools around the world inspires fresh hope for the future of our creative industries. While current circumstances might not allow for graduate exhibitions and shows in their typical formats, it’s more important than ever that we use the resources at our disposal to share their work with the world.”

As many students have had to produce a very different final year project without access to studios and workshops, resulting in different outcomes than planned, ARTSTHREAD want you to focus your creative portfolio submission more on the creative journey than the final outcome.

It is your chance to curate your creative personality by mixing research with 2D/3D development documenting all the different creative and technical development stages up to the final outcome. It would be good to know your personal creative journey, whether by photo or film.

We also encourage you to produce a short self-curated Instagram stories style film to introduce your work to the world in your own words and visuals.

We will be launching exciting graduate support led activities, webinars, masterclasses and releasing practical information on how to experiment, curate and upload your creative journey onto the platform, allowing you to express the diversity and raw creative process.

Please spread the word and sign up for new updates on the ARTS THREAD Newsletter as as well the on i-D Platform.

Love from,

ARTSTHREAD and the i-D editorial team.
